Department of Computer Science and Engineering(CSE)

The department is imparting high quality education to the budding engineers with the support of well qualified & experienced faculty. It aims to provide students a thorough understanding of computer technology. A high level of practical skill in the use of that technology. The ability to conceive, designs, and implement software systems, using appropriate existing technologies where available, and producing creative solutions when necessary. The ability to work in teams, with other computer scientists as well as non-computer scientists; to communicate, orally and in writing, with specialists and non-specialists, about computer technology. Integrity in their professional dealings, and sensitivity to ethical issues that arise in society's use of computers. Detailed knowledge of at least one advanced area of Computer Science.

Department is well equipped with spacious Lecture Halls, Tutorial Rooms, Seminar Halls with Projectors and the Labs so as to empower the future generation of learners to compete with the new world wide technological challenges. Stress is primarily laid on the practical work besides detailed theory, which is very useful to make an outstanding engineer.

SPCET computer centre is well equipped with latest configuration and software to meet the entire computing requirements of the faculty, staff and students of the institute. The Computer Centre develops and maintains college websites, Proxy servers, FTP servers, DNS servers; it also provides antivirus solutions and email facilities to faculty and staff. The Computer centre remains open even on weekends. The Computer Centre also conducts short-term courses for teaching and non teaching staff of the college.

Computer centre is also responsible for management of Internet bandwidth and currently 6 Mbps Internet leased line terminates in the computer centre from where it is distributed to other departments of the college. The Computer Centre also manages the Campus wide network of the institute. To cope with the power cuts and to provide maximum uptime to the users, computer centre is powered by 36 KVA capacity UPS systems backed with adequate diesel generator supply.
